For a special experience in Québec, rent a yurt at Mont-Tremblant National Park (be early, they tend to sell out fast). Go winter for some snowshoeing in beautifully frozen landscapes, or fall for some hiking amongst amazingly coloured foliage.
Inside the cosy and functional yurt (don’t expect any luxury here but hey, it’s a yurt and we are in a national park!) you will find bedding for 4, a gas fridge, a gas stove for cooking, a wood burning stove for heating (be careful not to overheat the yurt), a table and its chairs, solar energy-powered lighting (but candle-lit ambiance is way nicer) and plenty of drinking water in big bottles with pumps. Dry toilets are outside and wastewater has to be collected in a can.
This eco-friendly experience is really fun to try with some good friends or family, if you like being surrounded by beautiful nature and can manage to spend a night or two without a shower.
